PNR Accuracy & Scores:
Since the introduction of the PNR Forum, the prediction scores have been kept against member profiles, to keep history as well as to encourage our members to make predictions based on their past experience. We have received concerned feedback from our Admin Jitesh, seconded by other Admins, that of late, people have been making guesses rather than reasoned predictions, to increase their scores or to game the system. We admit that all such user activity is primarily triggered by the mechanics/deficiencies of the system.
Accordingly, to adjust user attitudes...
more... and tune the same towards a calculated thought process, the following PNR scoring changes are being instituted immediately.
1. Hereafter, only the number of "Correct" Predictions will be scored. Incorrect predictions will not count towards the total score. So, for example, if a member made 100 predictions and got only 60 correct, the PNR number score will show 60. If another member made only 70 predictions and got 65 right, their score will show 65 (more than the previous member).
2. The accuracy figure is stricter now. Partial points will not be credited anymore. For example, if a member predicts RAC, but it turns out Confirmed, then 0 points are awarded (unlike before, where 50% credit is given).
3. Weightage. As before, recent months' predictions will carry more weightage. This will serve to improve accuracy figures rapidly as members improve their accuracy and instincts.
It is hoped that the stricter accuracy figures, along with displaying only the number of correct predictions, will encourage our members to give careful thought to each prediction and make it count.
Feedback welcome. As everything else on this site, features are constantly evolving to keep up with changing usage, uptake and feedback.
Thanks.
