As of now, the Ekta Express, which originates from Bhiwani and goes to Chandigarh and Kalka, is connected to the Himalayan Queen at Panipat.
The Kalka-bound Himalayan Queen originates from Delhi.
In the process, the passengers of the Ekta Express are made to wait for the arrival of Himalayan Queen at Panipat.
Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda had forwarded the longstanding demand of the commuters to the railway authorities following which a proposal to make the Ekta Express an independent train has been approved in principle.
Vijay Kumar Saini, president of the Rohtak-Delhi Rail Passengers Association, has thanked the MP for his efforts in this regard.
