hi everyone.logged in after a very long time,since was busy with my academics.also didn't get a chance to travel in the indian railways for so long.finally after 6 months the wait was over,due to a sudden work which had come up.i had to travel to ratnagiri on the 17th of jan and had to return to mumbai the very same day.quickly booked tickets in the 10103 mandovi express and was ready for the journey.guys here i write a small report.well couldn't take any videos and just took some snaps,so excuse me for that.

awesome.got down at thane and proceeded to pf 5.the platform was filled with people,some were the local train commuters while the rest were waiting for their respective express trains.there was no mentioning of the mandovi yet.the train mentioned on the indicator was the deccan express.well i don't understand y the authorities shifted the mandovi from pf 7 to pf 5?the deccan arrived and people were desperate to get in.it left soon and then the indicators were filled with the mandovi coach position.well they were completely different then the one announced,putting people in utter confusion.my coach was d4 and it was the 4th coach.stood at mi place and there came the mighty locomotive with the jet engine like sound.the locomotive was a wdp-4b.the general coach was running full.my coach came exactly in front of me.getting in was an issue because people where creating nuisance at the door.got in and settled on my seat.as this was a second sitting in a sleeper coach the above berths were occupied by the wl.the train left thane on time and my headphones kept me occupied till the train reached panvel.at panvel it was dangerous to see those vendors get in the moving train.only a few passengers got in and we left soon.now came the time for breakfast.well i am sure everyone of you is aware of the pantry services in this train so i better not talk about it.the menu is really big with a vendor coming in every min with different eatables.i quickly settled down for a mendu vada and coffee.the train was doing good speed show.the only thing i wanted on this trip was to have a good view of the garib rath and the kerala sampark kranti,well i didnt have to wait long.soon i saw some green coaches outside.i was shocked to see the GR made to made for the mandovi,wow!!mangaon went and soon the train was gushing ahead and we made it on time at khed.here the Netravati was waiting for us,another shocker.the pantry guy came for lunch order and i gave my fixed order,a veg manchurian and fried rice.speed was very good and we were slightly delayed at chiplun.the pantry guys came with lunch,it was served early.had my lunch and then it was time for some matka dhai.lunch was done and i took a small nap till ukshi.tunnels came and passed and we moved on."the train was slightly delayed but still was doing good then before",said on of the vendor.finally after a long time the train slowed down and we were traveling on a curve.i spotted the accident relief vehicle and it was a sign that we reached ratnagiri.the train came on pf 1.got down and my ears were filled with the chants of "vada pav vada pav".moved towards the fob and took a rickshaw.well the journey was not different than my earlier journeys in this train.was happy that the train didnt get much delayed giving me time to do my work and catch the 12052 jan shatabdi for my return journey.thanks for a patient reading :)

here is my trip report of my journey on this train on 23 july from thivm to thane in sleeper class.reached thivim station at 9am. an announcement was made for the netravati. well it was running very late that day.the netravati came with a WDG-4. a brief halt and it left.at 9.25am the announcement was made for mandovi. at sharp 9.30 the train came on pf 1 with the mighty WDP-4.sleeper coaches were mostly empty.i had a side lower berth.the train started the tte came and checked my ticket,and the pantry guys were moving with a variety of menus. everytime they came i would listen to their chants.well there is a huge list of breakfast menu burger,cutlet,omelette,shira upma,idli,dosa......many more.it wasn't raining. journey was going great.stations passed by and the speed was also good.the train wasn't made to stop for crossings.at kudal i saw a train on the main line.it was the...

netravati. well it was made to wait on the main and we were put on the loop. after a brief halt our train moved ahead and we overtaked the netravai,wow.we kept on moving and then came the pantry guy for lunch.i ordered my fav menu on this train the manchurian and with it the noodles too.within 30 mins the guy came with the food.i had my lunch and it tasted awesome.the train kept moving and it started raining heavily somewhere near nivsar. the train came to a halt and i prayed that i don't get stuck here as this is a landslide prone area.after 15 mins i saw the plasser machine coming and i was relieved.soon we began moving.at ratnagiri we were greeted by thick heavenly fog.the nature around was just splendid and kept me entertaining all thought the route.the pantry also kept on rolling with various menus like gulab jamun,fruit salad,matka dahi.....i can go on and on.finally in the evening we crossed into CR it was time to say goodbye to KR.at 8.30pm reached thane pf 6.the overall journey was very good and i enjoyed a lot :)

hello everyone.finally after 1 year got the opportunity to travel in konkan in the Jan Shatabdi on 21st july. left home at 5am reached mulund station and caught a titwala local for thane.reached thane at 5.30 and proceeded to pf 5.my coach was D6. the coach composition shown on the indicator was different from the one mentioned in the site.but i sticked to the composition given on the site and went to the second coach which was showing D5. the train came on time with a GOC WDG-3A,wow offlink. and yeah my decision to stick with our site composition was right. D6 was the second coach.i was the only person smiling there.the others boarded and moved to their coaches creating a bit traffic in the aisle.finally after some time all the jam was cleared.i made my way to the door and was enjoying the early morning breeze with tender rain drops.the...

train moved with good speed and reached panvel. here a few passengers and vendors got in.my ear was full with sounds of "chai chai,coffee".a brief halt and we got our starter.left and soon we were on our way to wonderland a.k.a konkan. the WDG was accelerating moderately and we were not made to wait for crossings.crossed many trains.finally at roha slowed down a bit and entered the KR territory.the train moved on.when i saw out i thought to myself "whether i am partially colour blind???",well i could see no other colour except green.there was so much greenery around.and rain accompanied us on various occasions. there where huge mountains covered with thick green blanket of trees,small streams and falls,rivers overflowing,paddy fields.i was surely in some other world.the train picked up good speed and it was time for breakfast.had bread omelette and coffee.soon reached chiplun. many people got down here.well the scenery around didn't disappoint me.it kept me glued to my window seat.the train made its next halt at sangameshwar where we were kept waiting for a inspection vehicle to pass.then other stop was ukshi where we crossed the CBE-BKN AC express.after this two stops there was no to waiting and we reached ratnagiri. now my ears where again hit with the chants of "vada pav vada pav".got down went to the loco.the CR staff got down and was ready to hand control to KR staff.the KR staff came the ALP did the checks and we were good and ready to move.then came our next halt kankavli,kudal. at kudal the pantry guy came with food.well there was only veg biryani,bought it.well it was very bland.thanks that i had bought a brownie from home which filled my stomach.the journey went on good.the train was half empty.finally crossed in to goa and at about 3pm reached thivm,my destination.well wonderland didn't disappoint me for a sec.the journey was just great and refreshing.i just don't know how it came to an end so soon :)
