There is long standing demand to connect Talaguppa to the Konkan Line at a convenient point. It is getting brushed aside with the reason that it is not viable. But the tourist potential is not getting its due consideration. Just visualize a trip from Bangalore to Mysore on to Hassan(Belur-Halebid) shimoga sagar talaguppa and the konkan coastal line journey to Goa.
