Covid cases in India again cross the last year record ..
Its the second wave of this covid disease that ours country is facing ....
What about the other countries ...
Last year most of the countries were coverd up by media ...
this time media is also not covering so much
What are the current situation of covid cases in those countries that were effected worst condition last year ?

Are there less cases now

Can we accept that after this second wave
Things will be changed in more normal situation

Bhai, as per your statements I have to go to Gujrat from Bengal it seems :P (2000 kms)
I have never been a fan of the WAP7, it is an jugaad version of the WAG9, and really a so-so locomotive. WAP-5s and WAP4s are far superior to it both in terms of reliability and performance.
Yeah it's acceleration is good but so is that of every freight derived locomotive.
hauling capacity of a WAP7 decreases sharply after 130, whereas the decline is somewhat more controlled in a WAP5. That is the why the WAP5 is rated for higher speeds. In terms of reliability WAP4/5 blows the P7s easily. Every alternate day you have a P7 failing but failure rates in P4/P5 are much lower.
The best locomotive in my opinion are EMD WDP4 series, they proved their merit hauling Talcos at 180 km/hr. And the WDG4 series can haul more load than the WAG9. This is because the diesel locomotive that you seem to have problem with has more weight and therefore can generate more tractive effort.
So, yeah the WAP7 maybe the workhorse locomotive of IR but IR has better alternatives.

Coming back to the debate of Electrification.
I feel the trunk routes should be electrified and the non dense routes be left unelectrified. D-Locos offer you advantages that E-locos can't simply match
1. What if there is a power grid failure like what happened in 2010s? I remember a WDM2 rescuing 12314, the WAP7 behind was dead.
2. Incase of natural disasters or challenging
terrains, resulting in failed OHE wire/difficulty in installation, D-locos are the only hope.
3. Thirdly there is a huge misconception that D-locos cause pollution and E-locos are boy scouts. Nope, firstly pollutions can be of several types, sound, heat, light. E-locos are guilty of all of the above. Secondly, the power that is fed to the E-loco from the catenary is derived mostly from (around 70%) from thermal (coal based) plants. Coal has a really low thermal efficiency and factoring in the added power losses in transmission, E-locos ultimately cause the same amount of pollution as D-locos themselves. However coal is available in our country while fuel has to be imported.
So, you see there are arguments both in favour and against electrification.

The problem isn't electricity generation, the problem is that you really cannot store the electricity that you generate. This has been the main problem associated with any method you can use.
And countering your points:-
1. Diesel is limited, so is coal.
2. Alternate methods such as ? Nuclear is fine but there is always an inherent big risk associated it. If a nation
like Japan that is known for it's work ethics can cause a Fukushima, then imagine what will happen in India with our Chalta hain attitude. Unless we master controllable nuclear fusion, nuclear energy will continue to have their naysayers.
3. Solar energy/Wind energy is plentiful but highly inconsistent. And the issue of transportation still remains.
4. Hydroelectric plants also cause massive ecological changes and completely changes the natural ecosystem, plus they are highly expensive and time taking to install.
5. Fuel cells and batteries are good for cars, trains are simply too big for those.
If we are somehow able to produce hydrogen cheaply, hydrogen as a fuel may be a great alternative. Hydrogen has a very high thermal efficiency and the end product is water. However water vapour is a very potent greenhouse gas and will only end in a thermal runaway by global warming.
So, you see Harsh, the suggestion part is easy, but the actual implementation is very hard.

Sir, there is another problem, see for maximum efficiency you need to convert the coal into coke, which also cause added pollution.
See sir, there are a plethora of reasons why I am not a great fan of 100 percent electrification. I think somebody else beautifully illustrated that above.
My problem is that OHE catenary spoils the natural beauty of the surroundings, there is a feeling about natural unexplored beauty and thrill in diesel routes that is missing in the artificial and bland electrified routes.
importantly sir, Diesel locomotives have character, electric locomotives are just bland, efficient but bland machines. Off course these are strictly my views and anyone else is free to disagree with the same!

Har koi station me LC possible nahi hain
Classic example DDU. Dono side TLS hain aur
Locomotive movement ke liye alag loop lines bhi. Isiliye itna busy hone ke bawajut DDU ek popular LC point hain.
