Photos of the Day: On Republic Day, 26 January 1980, we took the Howrah (Calcutta) Rajdhani Express from Delhi overnight to Howrah. Here are the Rajdhani awaiting departure from Delhi behind one of the few EMDs that we saw in India, WDM4 18001, as well as a Krauss-Maffei diesel-hydraulic class WDS4A shunter moving the consist of another train. Pic by Mike Tisdale.
MGS was supposed to have 2 sheds, MGS/ER (which kept ALCo s) & MGS/NR (which kept the EMD WDM4s) . Probably IR didn't get TOT for the EMDs, hence foreign staffs maintained them

I booked a highly WL ticket a few minutes before chart preparation in 12878 and got an unexpected surprise.
Transfer from Garib Rath to Hwh Raj sounds like an upgrade but I have travelled in RNC GR before also and I would say FOR NDLS-CNB evening travel RNC GR provides much better service.
I personally didn't quite like HWH RAJ travel although it was my first time traveling in a Raj.
