Photos of the Day: On Republic Day, 26 January 1980, we took the Howrah (Calcutta) Rajdhani Express from Delhi overnight to Howrah. Here are the Rajdhani awaiting departure from Delhi behind one of the few EMDs that we saw in India, WDM4 18001, as well as a Krauss-Maffei diesel-hydraulic class WDS4A shunter moving the consist of another train.

This loco is present at the NRM, chanakyapuri and yes mgs shed is painted on it
This was 1st EMD BG LOCO of India
MGS was supposed to have 2 sheds, MGS/ER (which kept ALCo s) & MGS/NR (which kept the EMD WDM4s) . Probably IR didn't get TOT for the EMDs, hence foreign staffs maintained them
Wow...
MGS WDM 4 😍😍😍
Old is Gold 💖💖💖💖
Yes, MGS had an NR-owned diesel loco shed exclusively for WDM4 locos. The shed was shutdown sometime around 2000.
