Even though ONT, caterence of region is different. Cheran/Blue mountain has more urban crowd which can sustain 12 AC coaches also but similar CC wont work with sethu/Boatmail

If these extensions are entertained for the sake of "decongesting stations", the routes they ply on will eventually become congested and become an excuse to deny useful new trains citing "saturated line capacity."

chains are like possible combinations one might take if the direct train ticket is not available or direct train itself not available. but Some intersting train chains are faster than many direct train option For example: Mumbai Bangalore one can take 12163 till raichur/Gulburga and change to 22231 which will be much faster than direct option like chalukya, udayan.
