Very difficult to change the TT of these long dist trains because of path availability & other constraints.

It was originally BKSC-MAS express with a slip service from TATA if I am not mistaken. Originally a SER train, due to ADRA division's apathy towards the pitline at BKSC, it wasn't looked after well and allowed to rot away. The Primary maintenance of this train was then given to ER and the train was extended to DHN_ER and the train was renumbered to 13351.

BKSC is a strange case where a combination of several factors have ensured that a city of the calibre of Bokaro is devoid of originating/terminating trains.

Be it the land issue with BSL that denies the justified increase in number of platforms at BKSC, or the general apathy of SER and ADRA division towards it as a whole. Compounding this problem is the weak political lobby of Dhanbad, under whose Union Legislative seat BKSC lies.

Dhanbad got lucky in some ways, the location was good and ER's ASN Division, and then Dhanbad Division was really beneficial for the region. Dhanbad and Gomoh got pitlines for that reason.

Dhanbad still gets a lot of benefits from ASN Division, that is a undisputed fact. That is the main reason why I always felt that DHN Division shouldn't have be created out of ASN Division in the first place. It would still be beneficial if DHN was reinstated back into ASN.

I have tagged members from BKSC, who will be able to elaborate on the matter in greater details.

It was 89/90 TATA-MAS originally (1970 introduction), going via Bhimavaram Town then, departing Tatanagar at night. The whole rake got extended to BKSC in 1975, via Muri. In 1981, the train was split up into two parts, 89/90 BKSC MAS and 89A/90A TATA MAS. BKSC MAS (evening departure) became the main train and TATA MAS (night departure) became the link. BKSC MAS ran via Ranchi-Hatia and TATA MAS via Chakradharpur, and got attached at Rourkela.

1981, after split, train started going via Eluru, which 13351/52 continues to date. In 1991, Railway Minister C.K. Jaffer Sharief extended the train to Alleppey, and the slot changed. Noon departure from Bokaro for 8689 and evening departure for 8189 from Tatanagar. In 1995, train was rerouted via Perambur, avoiding reversal at MAS.

Railway Minister Nitish Kumar extended the Bokaro train to Dhanbad via DC line in 2003.

Just one correction, 8689/90 BKSC - ALLP Express got extended to DHN circa 2002-03. It was already under ECR, then.

You have more or less listed(almost all) problems pertaining to the present state of BKSC. All terminating/originating trains of BKSC were lost to other nearby stations. 8689/90 BKSC - ALLP was extended to DHN, 2019/20 HWH - BKSC Shatabdi got extended to RNC, and the last one HWH - BKSC Passenger/Express got extended to RNC indirectly through its RSA partner BKSC - RNC Passenger.

The pitline at BKSC is in a very bad state now(it is damaged). At this time, when the Government is investing so much in infrastructures, it's very sad to see the state of railway station of a prominent industrial town in the state of Jharkhand. Bokaro Steel City deserves a lot better.
