Every thing can happen if SWR takes interest if KR can use SWR rakes for their trains and run trains of WR and SR why can't SWR. Vasco can't be separated from SWR because it earns a lot of revenue from the port.
Is there a MAO bypass planned so that VSG trains might avoid reversal towards north

No it is not planned. But IR should plan it to reach VSG without LR at MAO.
No such bypass is yet planned but instead of Madgaon trains can reverse at Majorda thus avoiding Madgaon.
I feel IR should introduce a Vasco Mumbai SF train with rake reversal at Majorda thus not having to touch Madgaon as it has plenty of trains to Mumbai. This would create a Mumbai connection from two new places in Goa ie. Vasco and Majorda further it may halt at Karmali and Thivim.
