We welcome the news of introduction of a direct overnight train to Vasco-da-gama from YPR Via Shravanabelagola but not at the cost of existing very popular train. Instead of running two overnight trains to Karwar, they could have curtailed the service of the second train (existing SBC-KWR via Mysore and Shravanabelagola to MAQ with delayed departure from SBC i.e., around 9.30 PM or 10 PM instead of completely cancelling an existing popular train to accommodate another train whose timings is not at all convenient.

I would strongly oppose cutting off the existing train 16513. I see a strong need for a train at a convenient time. This new train firstly starts 30mins early and second does not reach at a convenient time for Mangalore, Surathkal travellers. This train is surely suited for coastal North Karnataka travellers, but very hard for travellers to Kukke Subramanya, Mangalore, Surathkal who have to depend on getting down at a remote location at wee hours in the morning as opposed to the 7.15pm train. Please consider requests from such senior citizen travellers before cancelling this popular train
