Oh, I was just replying to the other member's query about increasing the rake length. Sorry for addressing it in my reply to you.
About using parallel connections, it is not so straight forward. The amount of power consumed by a normal house is a tiny fraction of whatever is available on the power grid. On the other hand, the EOG generates just enough power for the rake. So the total amount of available power is constant and is the same even if parallel connections are used. And also, the low voltage problem is not a constant one. It varies according to the electrical load of the coach. So, the same EOG and rake can face an...

Most of the Shatabdi's run with relatively short rakes of about 15 coaches, which is more or less a safe zone as far as reliability of the EOG system is considered. And moreover, unlike normal trains with a mix of different classes of coaches, Shatabdi's have a rather uniform coach composition, having only CC coaches and 1 or 2 EC coaches. This presents much lesser hassles to the EOG crew.
One solution is to have a higher capacity EOG, but currently this looks out of the question. And the other is to just remove the extra EOG and hope for the best. But at least, IR should concentrate on LHB'fying the shorter trains. At least there, there will be no loss to UR passengers and even if the train is run with a single EOG van, the risks are lesser.
