Northern Railway ~ Unreserved Mail/Express Trains ~ 01.07.2021

Northern Railway announced that Railway decided to restore the running of UNRESERVED MAIL/EXPRESS trains w.e.f. 01.07.2021. The passengers may avail the benefit of these services. Following is the list of Unreserved Mail/Express Trains.

Central Railway ~ Unreserved Mail/Express Trains ~ 20.07.2021

South Central Railways announced that (20.07.2021) Railway have has undertaken major track strengthening works over the last o­ne year. These have resulted in the enhancement of the maximum permissible speed at which trains can travel over its network at several sections. To pass o­n the benefit of these track enhancement works to the passenger in terms of reduced travel time, these trains will be operated as Unreserved Express Train Services.

Further, these Unreserved train services will be introduced in a phased manner over the next week starting from 19th July 2021. A total of 82 train services will resume operations as part of this. These 82 train services are spread over the entire network of South Central Railways, so that they will be able to meet the travel needs of all commuters over its jurisdiction.

Passengers will be able to purchase their tickets through all the mediums – both at the booking counters in the stations as well other non-physical interactive mediums like UTS App (online), ATVM (Automatic Ticket Vending Machines), CoTVMs (Coin Ticket Vending Machines) etc. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of maintaining physical distance, Passengers are encouraged to use the mediums such as UTS App and ATVMs, thereby avoiding the queue at the booing stations. Further, the passengers will also have the facility of buying season tickets as well.

Shri. Gajanan Mallya appealed to all passengers to follow the COVID protocols while both at the stations and also in the trains. He said that, while these train services are being resumed to meet the travel demands of the commuter passengers, adequate precautions like compulsorily wearing face masks, maintain physical distance, frequent sanitization, etc should be practiced for the safety of all rail passengers.

Western Railway ~ Fare of Unreserved Mail/Express Trains ~ 06.03.2021

Western Railway announced that as per the directives of the Railway Board, Western Railway will run all unreserved special trains on fare chargeable as unreserved Mail/Express trains. This will be implemented from 6th March 2021.

UTS on Mobile App Reactivate For Unreserved Tickets Booking

Indian Railway announced on 25.02.2021 that to decongest ticket booking counters and to ensure smooth compliance of social distancing norms, the facility to book unreserved tickets through the UTS ON MOBILE app is being reactivated by Indian Railways. On Indian Railways, unreserved train services are being introduced in a phased manner. In order to avoid any inconvenience to passengers in booking unreserved tickets and to ensure norms of social distancing at booking counters while purchasing the tickets,

It has been decided that in addition to UTS ON MOBILE App facility available on suburban sections, this facility may also be reintroduced on non-suburban sections of zonal Railways. Zonal Railways have been instructed that whenever unreserved train services are introduced on any zonal Railway, the zonal Railway concerned may accordingly enable UTS ON MOBILE app for issuing unreserved tickets.
