Hyderabad: The long wait is finally over. The Multi Model Transport System (MMTS) will chug on the Tellapur- Ramachandrapuram stretch from Sunday with the restoration of railway lines between the two stations. The Railway Board has approved the extension of two pairs of MMTS train services from Lingampalli to Ramachandrapuram Railway station. This will commence one stage of MMTS phase II project operations. On Sunday, the services will be extended without any fanfare, bringing in the much-need relief and extending the transport facility for many commuters from the newer colonies that have sprang over the last couple of decades on either side of the railway track. There was demand for MMTS services between Tellapur and Ramachandrapuram from commuters for long. The project was sanctioned in 2013 with South Central Railway (SCR) and State government sharing the project cost. Now, with the restoration of railway line on the nearly 6 km stretch between Tellapur and Ramachandrapuram,

HYDERABAD: After a wait of four years, a part of Phase II of the Multi-Model Transport System (MMTS) is finally set to see light of the day by the end of this year. Vinod Kumar Yadav, general manager, South Central Railway, announced on Tuesday that the 5.75 km long Tellapur-R C Puram stretch will be the first in Phase II to get operational by December 2017. Subsequently, the entire project will be rolled out by December 2018.
On Tuesday, Yadav, who has recently taken charge, took mediapersons on a tour of the ongoing work being carried out on the Secunderabad-Moula Ali-Cherlapally-Ghatkesar section.
Thats a welcome move. They can make a bigger bus terminal at Patancheru near by this station and can terminate some of the buses from Karnataka, Maharasatra side. It helps to control traffic also.
I guess, Secunderabad (SC) will be even more congested with SC - MLY - Cherlapally- Ghatkesar line. Important, passing through & RSA trains might not terminate at Charlapally. Only weekly trains might terminate. Tellapur - RC Puram is welcome.
If they can create terminal at RC puram, then some train can be extended to RC to decongest the SC.
3rd line is almost impossible in Begumpet - SC sector
