A funny thing happened with an acquaintance of mine.
She had never boarded a long distance train alone before. She had to go towards Bombay side and had a 3A ticket in Kushinagar Express. Couple of folks went to the local station to drop her off[and personally see her into the train]. Kushinagar arrives at Babhnan before Avadh Express [another Bombay bound train]. 30 November 2024 ki baat hai, I was waiting at PF 3 OF DDU, and was being displayed and announced that some other train will arrive at PF 3, and then all of sudden firozpur dhanbad train aa gayee jiska main wait kar raha tha...to kya ye railway ko sudhar ki jarurat nahi hai?
Andar bhi wahi haal hai sir, abhi Shuttle se Jaunpur jate samay 2S me ticket tha. 5-6 logo ka ek group coach me aya. Seats khoj kar sab baithe bhi hain.
Almost JOP ke paas TTE aya, tickets dekhe. Sabke ticket BE1 me the, mera coach DE1 tha. Maze ki baat ye hai, dono coaches bagal me hain aur vestibule khula tha.

Yes, sometimes IR does change platform of trains at the last moment leading to rush of pax. Though in this case, none of that happened.
It was late evening time, ~1900 hrs for this to have happened. Since this station Babhnan has only 2 platforms [one for UP and one for DN trains], so no switching of platforms does under ordinary circumstances. I assume the folks were so busy in their phones that they disregarded the most basic of things: station announcements or train boards or asking the station master himself. ...

Two more I recall out of which one is too common. Two ICEs bound for Gorakhpur leave Lucknow and many passengers board at BNZ station of the city. One goes via main line and other loop line. Till today, despite announcements done multiple times that pax going to X should NOT board this train, people still end up boarding the wrong one.
And if God forbid, the natural order of the trains is reversed [like the loop line ICE comes first due to some reason like other one running late for...

News hamesha aati hai but extension nahi hoti hai. Mujhe to mushkil hi lagta hai ki extension ho jaye Poorva ki New Delhi se considering how important the train is. Extra rake bhi lag jayegi.
Why don’t you propose extension of Salasar express upto Howrah will be more beneficial via same route
any one knows if SCoR DPR is approved and when GM is going to be appointed?
I think it's not approved. The leaders of AP want reorganization of Kurdha, Bza divisions. Some leaders want reorganization of Guntakal divison. So all may take year solve.
