It is just pathetic. I really don't understand where they are getting the idea behind running freight trains with higher priority than passengers. Who are these people giving such orders? Is transporting goods more important than transporting passengers now?!

Money my dear friend. Without profits no business can sustain I hope after trains are run with 2SL 2GS and all other AC coaches situation improves as they will generate more profits to Railways.
Also we need more DFCs now in addition to the doubling, tripling and quadrupling of lines.

It is starting to seem like the start of crony capitalism not gonna lie. In America all rail lines are owned by private companies and recently so many rail derailments are happening because of deregulation, because it is an expense. There is a line that shouldn't be crossed when it comes to services and IR is starting to cross those lines already.

But with govt ownership also comes problems of corruption, incompetence, too much political interference, etc. Without privatization we would still be stuck with BSNL, LIC, SBI, etc employee bossing over us.
Capitalism is good we should have more of it but there should be a strong state regulating too and providing required welfare measures too.
Regarding Indian Railways i think more and more private players should be allowed to provide services like catering, cleaning, maintenance, etc. which we already have.

Yes, the pricing should have been in a way that there should have been reasonable difference between 3E and 3AC. That will induce some sleeper passengers to move to 3E. There was some info earlier that all Garib Rath coaches will be replaced with 3E. Dont know what is the status on that as of now ?

In Garib Rath, railway pass cannot be used. Not sure if rules changed now but at the time of introduction, there was no such facility for staff
