I am not a big fan of premiums. the needy passengers are looted. but how about premiumizing hill railways? one has no choice but to take a train if he wants to go from howrah to chennai, but wil hill railways its always a pleasure trip. tourists may be willing to pay more as they have gone for enjoyment plus all the things for tourists are already over priced. they cant plan too much in advance so all criterias fit well. plus if price is too high, one can always take roadways from kalka to simla but you cant from pune to nizamuddin...

the concept of premium was brought in as railways thought people can pay 5000 bucks to agent for confirm berth so why not straight to railways...passengers cant even cancel the ticket...and fare goes as high as thrice the basic fare...almost more than 2ac fare...way too much for a common man...who would have preferred going in sleeper class...with hill railways, u charge for the service and its always justified. ..if not roadways helps u reach in shorter time...the only issue...hill railways premium wont fetch as much money as long distance premiums

thanks. When i was traveled in conoor OOTY toy train the FC ticket is 10 times greater than 2S. many of the foreign peoples will pay for FC but no. of FC coach is 1 or 2 max. even if u take any case like kalka simla and others. but for 2S there are many daily commutators students and school staffs who will prefer train. so for 1 or 2 coaches premium fare is not a good idea. u know technical difficulties in toy and hill trains so let it be maintained as heritage. if we want we can opt for separate fare for this but premium is not needed.

but then a coach is already dereserved for daily commuters. let only certified daily users with pass board the unreserved coach. no ur tickets shd b sold to other passengers jus like premiums. and let me say, I did not find a single daily passenger travelling in klk sml darjeeling himalayan railways or nilgiri mountain railways cos its too time taking. even if taken into account will be less than 5%. I mean why will a student spend 4 hrs to reach ooty from mettupalayam that toi daily? heritage will remain as heritage. no changing with that.

daily passengers will not use train for entire stretch. they will use for intermediate stations . connor to wellington. aravankadu to wellington or ketti to ooty for their routine purpose. so they also need to be considered.
