Why did ever railways not consider for doubling the Rajpura -Bathinda route, inspite of knowing that it's harshly needed because of increase in traffic ?? Is it viable to keep freight trains held up for hours for line clearance ?? Specially the coal transporting trains to TPP. Mostly freights come on this section from Eastern sides with coal etc, and they carry food grains , petrol, cement, fertiliser on return. On an average 15-20 freights pass here each day, excluding the passenger trains.
