I don't disagree that it should be upgraded, rather a SF would be a good idea. What I am saying that the chance of particularly Uttarbanga's up gradation.
As I said earlier, this train (along with Kanchankanya) was re-routed as a compensation when Darjeeling Mail became Superfast (from 3143/3144 to 2343/2344 then) and many stoppages were removed from Darjeeling's TT. Before 2003 both Uttarbanga and Kanchankanya used to run via BAK loop (BDC-KWAE-AZ). They used to share slot and run on alternate days (3147/3148 was Tri-Weekly and 3149 ran on rest). Kanchankanya used to run till NJP only, not APDJ like today. Also on their initial days at BWN-RPH route they used to share slot. Later (probably in 2010) both became daily...
more... and 13149 slot separated. At present 13147 follows the more or less same slot that Darjeeling used to follow before it became SF. That's why I am not sure if IR would do it.
