50 Craziest Off-links in Indian Railways!! High speed compilation of Loco Allocation blunders!!
.
In Indian Railways, almost all the passenger carrying trains, ranging from Rajdhanis, Shatabdis, Garib Raths, Durontos, Jan Shatabdis, Yuvas, Superfasts, Mails/ Expresses and ordinary Passenger trains have a fixed locomotive link allotted for them. Fixed link means the regular locomotive types that the trains get on a general basis from one or two particular sheds (Sometimes, some trains get fixed link from more than two sheds).
But...
more... sometimes, due to numerous reasons, like unavailability of the regular/ fixed link, locomotive failure at the last moment or during journey, route diversion of the train, blunder in allotment (Where two locos are exchanged unintentionally for two different trains), trains tend to get either a different locomotive type, or the same locomotive type, but from a different shed all together. Such a rare link that the trains does not generally get is known as off- link.
So presenting a compilation of the 50 most bizarre off- links spotted by me in Indian Railways, and captured them behind my lenses. The trains range from Rajdhanis, Shatabdis, Jan Shatabdis to Yuvas, Superfasts and Mails/ Expresses. Locations vary from various parts of India, ranging from New Delhi, Kolkata to Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai.
Note that the Special trains do not have any fixed link, and tend to get any type of locomotive (Generally Goods loco) from any shed. Neither there are any fixed link for numerous ordinary Superfasts and Mails/ Expresses too. So those trains are not included in this compilation.
++ Here is my play-list of all the off- links (100+):
