KOLKATA CITY: Ministry of railways have paid high concern to the fact of passenger safety in Jharia coal fields. On a private session at Ranchi, the Chandrapura-Dhanbad and few more sections have been ordered to be closed. Prompting the order into priority, ECR ordered SER to suggest new routes for present trains. Later itself also planned out a chart which unfortunately got rejected.
As per MOR's statements, Gomoh(Jharkhand) is the main station to have reversal of many important trains. To reduce to the load, diversions have also been planned through Purulia(West Bengal). ER adding to the notes to have 12019/12020 Howrah-Ranchi-Howrah Shatabdi Express diverted via Purulia making the train travel shorter distance and increasing journey speed. Dhanbad's personal demands sent after approvals were clearly rejected due to non-feasibility.
Adra division on it's view asked the zone(SER) to allot MEMUs and ICF rakes. Adra plans to run trains on Ispat Nagar route to Bokaro Steel City. Stations like Santaldih(WBPDCL), Bhojudih, and Bokaro have very few options to take for Kolkata. An express train concept like 58012-58014 will surely be a boon to them. After route modifications completes, Adra will run trains on the section. On a special request done by Sainik Schools Society(under Ministry of Defence) to railways, a special army train to Kolkata Chitpur from Purulia will run on recommended days and special timing via Asansol-Durgapur section.
Asansol division was given the duty to make movements faster in the Grand Chord in each and every kind of situations.
Howrah division has asked Dhanbad to stop every railway operation in the coal field region in view of passenger safety.
