I often do travel between Bardhaman and Asansol in various trains but yesterday was a spacial trip as I experienced a spacial fight between priority and logic between Howrah division and Asansol division. Let me share this experience with u all
.
So yesterday I reached Bardhaman station by 17.30 to catch mithila exp and travel till Asansol. Everything was fine until 17.40 when an announcement was made - May I have your attention plzz, train no 03043 up Howrah raxaul spacial exp via Asansol, barauni is coming shortly on platform no 2.

I quickly opened NTES to check this train that how much priority has this train received between Howrah and Bardhaman but unfortunately and quite surprisingly NTES announced 03043 to be an invalid train. Anyways within 10mins, I found hwh RXL spacial arriving on pf 2 with Tigar faced Waggie from Jhansi. The train was almost completely empty, around 30 pax were there in each coach. Within 2-3mins, I heard announcement which addressed passengers not to cross railway tracks as a passing train will come on pf 1. Within minute I found Howrah Rajdhani aka king thrashing pf 1 of Bradhaman. Our train was still now halted at Bardhaman. Again within 5mins, Sealdah raj aka queen crushingly passed pf 1 of Bardhaman. Now it was 19.05 and this time announcement was done for the arrival of Mithila exp on pf 3. Mithila exp arrived Bardhaman sharp at 19.09 with Howrah red beast in lead. So I was in a dilemma whether to go with HWH RXL spacial or de board from it, as i found many passenger getting down from the spacial and boarding mithila exp, and board mithila express. As I was thinking over this topic, suddenly I found my hwh rxl spl running, it was now 19.12. As we departed from Bardhaman, we found poorva exp arriving on pf 5. Just after departing from Bardhaman, our train was given on the slow line but it maintained good speed till Khana. At khana outer we were halted and experienced Xing with RPH BWN MEMU and ASN BWN MEMU. And then as suspected, Mithila exp overtook us with full MPS. I couldn't find any logic behind this overtake as Hwh RXL SPL has only one halt between Bardhaman and Asansol, ie, Durgapur whereas Mithila express has 5 intermediate halts between the same stations. Anyways, we were halted for 10 more minutes at khana outer and then we were given green signal at 19.30 After crossing Khana, we were given on the mainline. Soon we found ourselves running at full MPS, the highest speed I recorded was around 108kmph between mankar and durgapur. We arrived Durgapur at 19.58. After departing Durgapur, we were again running at MPS. And finally at Raniganj, we re-overtook Mithila exp with full MPS. Finally we arrived Asansol at 20.30. Mithila later got struck due to platform congestion at Asansol and arrived Asansol at 20.40
.
Summary
Howrah Division - 13.1km in 20mins @39kmph
Asansol Division - 92.9km in 1hrs @93kmph
.
In my opinion the controlling was a much rational, logical and better in ASN division than HWH division. I coulnt find reason behind this overtake and reovertake and that too for a train which is known as a crawler and has schedule behind that spacial

Yes mithila got delayed by 35mins but it was not becoz of the overtake. As bwn-asn is quadruple section so the reovertake didn't affected mithila. Mithila was given on the slow line and spl overtook it from the mainline, mithila was not halted anywhere for overtake as was done for SPL when mithila overtook it.
Mithila got delayed mainly becoz of pf congestion at ASN. When I reached I found that none of the pfs were vacant there - pf 3&7, the line between pf 6 &7 and between 2&3 was occupied by freight, pf 6 was occupied by asn-jsme memu, pf 5 by late JSM hwh exp, pf 4 by hwh RXL SPL, pf 2 by asn-dgr memu and pf 1

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
