Finally some work has begun for new stabling lines on the Binny Mill land. 2 bridges are being built over the Binny Mill road - the road connecting Binny Mill to Goods Shed Road. You can see the 2 structures ready to be installed on the foundation. The stabling line work too is coming along well. The peripheral wall

is being built and the earth works are underway. You can also see a lot of empty space available for further works. The blue shed seen is the SBC ETS. The land exchange happened many years ago. Railway funds being available now, this work has started, as can be seen in pics 1 -14.
.
The land the state got (state exchanged land and also gave railways extra money) is also being used, but that work is in much more advanced state. This land is near the rear entrance of SBC and will be used for Okalipuram eight lane signal free corridor. The Okalipuram flyover will ease congestion towards the rear entry of SBC. New railway bridge towards YPR from SBC (PF 8, 9, 10) is being built too as part of this project, as can be seen in pics 15-22.

You can see in the main post, lot of land available. Not sure if they have been given to IR; and if just a portion is being used for this work as per funds available.
Work is still on, so must surely be for longer rakes. Things will be clear in a few months.
But what is clear is a lot more is planned I guess, because 2 bridges are being built for just shunting them from SBC to this yard - must be expecting a lot of activity on this side.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
