With reference to my post (link /blog/post/2960344 )I am posting FAQs about Bank Charges while purchasing Tickets by Debit/Credit Cards at PRS counters.
1)How much charges will I be charged by the Railways or the Banks if I book by DEBIT Cards at PRS Counter?
A:Railways waived off the INR 30 which they charged for Card Purchase at counters w.e.f 01/06/2016 so Railways won't charge you anything.As far as Banks are concerned if the card is a RuPay Debit card of any bank there is NO Charges at all.For Visa/MasterCard/Maestro Debit...
more... cards majority of Banks including SBI/ICICI/IDBI/AXIS/UBI 'DO NOT' charge any fee.1 or 2 banks levy 0.9% to 1% of the amount.You may contact your bank for the same.
2)How much is charged for bookings through CREDIT Cards at PRS counters?
A:A charge of 1.5%+GST of 18% over 1.5%(Total is 1.77%) is charged for booking at PRS counters by Credit Cards.
3)What are the benefits of booking tickets by Debit or Credit Cards at PRS locations?
A:Problem of Change for Cash transaction is solved.If ATM withdrawal limit has exceeded than free transaction offered one can book by Debit card.He/She saves around INR 20 of withdrawal charges as Debit Card charges are ZERO for most banks at PRS counters.
4)Are there any advantages Paying by Card at PRS than booking online?
A:Booking Online tickets by Debit Card of any bank attracts a nominal charge of 0.25% to 1% of the amount.Whereas through PRS charges for Maximum Debit Card are NIL.Booking by Credit Card attracts a charge of 1.65% to 1.9% +18% GST on the Service Charge whereas at PRS it is Flat 1.77% .Some bank do not charge for Credit Card as well.

Note:Booking through Card at PRS is best when one is confirm to travel on a particular date as Modification is not permitted in these tickets.As of now only Cancellation is allowed.Booking through Card takes a bit longer as RRN No etc details are to be fed into the system for Refund purpose which will be printed on the ticket so it is best when you have time to buy your ticket and is not an emergency ticket which gets over within seconds.
