I think these we need a closer introspection of IR's ticketing logic here...
Have a look at these attached screenshots. One shows the fare chart of the Maitreyi express from Kolkata to Dhaka and the another shows the fare chart of the Sealdah New Duronto Express. I leave the Rajdhanis out of the question since they are considered as the most premier trains in India. Due the lack of an actual ACSF express between Kolkata and Delhi, I had to take the available premier SFs and the Duronto for consideration!
Look,...
more... I am all for affordable train connectivity between our neighbouring countries , but a line should be drawn distinguishing between domestic international travel. I understand that Delhi is almost four times the distance than Dhaka is from Kolkata but why is the Maitreyi express exempted from Dynamic fares? Why should international people be exempted from paying more for coming to a foreign country while we have to cough up high dynamically varying prices just to reach our national capital .
Just have a look at the SL fare in the HWH-NDLS Duronto and the 1A fare in the Maitreyi for reference!
Granted the overall condition people of Bangladesh is not that well off, but the ones that undertake the trip to KOAA are usually the richer ones, and they are snobbish and arrogant, they brag about Bangladesh's healthcare systems and praise other such devlopment, which degrading Kolkata and India as a whole...
Like seriously if your Bangladesh is such a 'Sone ki chiriya' why come to us? We have problems of our own.... many of our own die of lack of healthcare facilities due to poverty and other such issues.
And all this would have been excusable if the railway connectivity were up to Nepal or Bhutan, the countries that are truly our friends, they are neither as overpopulated as Bangladesh nor harbour ill intentions towards us...
Trust me most of the Indians are blissfully aware of the true feelings of the Bangladeshis because of the lack of the knowledge of the Bengali language...
For the few of us that have Bengali as our mother tongues, we are well aware of their intentions towards us... Just google translate the wordings from their facebook pages if you don't believe me... The only reason Bangladesh isn't openly hostile to us is because of our sheer size and might....
Look it's good thing to be charitable but in our case, it's better to remain charitable within the boundaries of India itself....
We have huge problems of our own....
Let's resolve that first... let's set our house in order first.....
Charity can be done afterwards....
Waiting for your views on the same.......
