As per the below article, under project Utrkrisht the Southern Railway, 10 rakes of six trains have been identified for renovation. in which Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram AC Express (bi-weekly) is one of the trains

Super AC has started running with self generating CBC coaches from last Friday. Running with SLR+ normal PC+ AC coaches.
Donno whether the existing coaches got scrapped or went for POH for Utkrishtifying, as their condemnation time is not far away.

Yes even i heard about the fact that its coaches were very bad. Any idea as to what happened to the ICF coaches of KL express......some of them were old as well but probably some coaches were relatively new and could have been used to augment coaches in some existing trains
As in some report, its coaches might have been used for 22633. The rest might be used as spare or come to MAS.
