I intended to catch the Rajya Rani Express to travel to Mysore, but I was a few minutes late and as I reached the platform, I had to watch Rajya Rani depart.
I then proceeded to buy tickets and waited for the Basava Express to arrive. Which it did in 10 minutes.
Please do sit in whichever seat you find in SL because the train gets full at SBC. This is a rather slow train. It was overtaken by the MAS-MYS Shatabdi at SBC.

speed of the train average with stops regularly. This train was pulled up after Shrirangapatna for a few minutes and then later just outside Mysore for almost 30 - 45 mins !!!!!!
The Shatabdi that had overtaken at SBC crossed us there, returning back to MAS !!!! We then pulled into MYS and the Rajya Rani Express was ready with its twin ALCO's to depart towards Mysore.
Overall the speed is too less for an express and I would advise people to take the Rajya Rani or the passenger train before that. Never go for this train due to its punctuality, only resort to this train if you have no other option. Even a bus goes faster than this train.
Snacks are always available with the vendors coming every few minutes since this is a commercial route(SBC-MYS).

absolutely, don't no when swr authorities speed up this train despite fully electrified double track on almost entire stretch. it takes almost 3+ hrs from gbd to sbc for a mere 75kms & gets more worse between sbc-mys

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
