I totally understand that railways are doing constant research on this issue... They even had to invite Faiveley to see what their pantographs can do but still they are working on it. I have read one of the reports from Schunk citing that if more speed is applied to the panto in the section then wear and tear will increase and I have even notice a lot of dancing and shaking on the panto because again it is working against all physics and aerodynamic situations.
