How the heck does Indian Railways and the government manage to make billions of rupees when it comes to advertising, but then they start whining that they're losing money because of non-AC passengers? Today, only 136 seats have been booked for the Indore - Bhopal Vande Bharat train. If we do the math and multiply it by the cost of the full ticket, which is 810 rupees, we're looking at around 1 lakh 10 thousand rupees. Damn! Let's take another example, the Sampoorna Kranti train. It has 3 general coaches, and I'm pretty damn sure that at least 500 people, if not more, are traveling in those coaches. The cost of the ticket from PNBE to NDLS is 290 rupees. Multiply that by 500 and we're talking about nearly 1.5 lakh rupees. Woah! But hold up, let me give you another example. The Varanasi - Lucknow Shuttle superfast express has a whopping 1300 general seats, and it's always packed. Even if we only consider 1000 general seats, the revenue from that would be 1000 multiplied by 120, which equals to 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees. And hey, I'm not even counting the 6 CC seats! Crazy, right? Indian Railways and the government need to get their priorities straight and stop crying about losses when they're raking in all this cash. Just saying...
