it is advisable to carry additional dry snacks while traveling on Konkan railway,
if your train is delayed or get stuck somewhere due to some problem it can b handy.

Usually even passengers are delayed by more than a hour.Most of the station in KR is tiny and there is little or no food stalls available there.

Very nice train to enjoy Konkan,but up train runs minimum 60 to 90 minutes late for xing with many many trains and halts at intermediate stations more than 15 minutes.Gives way for freight vehicles too.But down train is magnificient.It covers time in halting at Madgaon.Less xings and runs late upto Kundapur,but runs like a sf express till Mangalore Junction.Better to get down at Mangalore Junction,because it gives way to Parashuram express and halts at Majn for 30 to 40 minutes.I had to get down at Maq but tired of waiting so got down in Majn.
