Hello All,
Recently traveled on NDLS - LDH route to and fro from the 12037 coach C8/12038 coach C2 Shatabdi. Would like to share it with you.
1. Punctuality/Timings
The train was on schedule, no delays. Departed NDLS at 7 am and reached LDH at 12.10, 10 min before.
Similarly
...
left LDH at 16.40 sharp, reaching NDLS at 21.50, 15 min prior to its arrival time.
2. Catering
The catering, being Shatabdi is something that we look forward to. But I must say, it was disappointing.
In 12037, after leaving NDLS, water bottles were distributed followed by Tea. A noteworthy point is there was no coffee. Around 9 began service for breakfast. Choices- cutlets or Omelette. Being monday, I took cutlets and found them rather bland without much spices or salt. Bread was dry, sides uncut. Again, only tea was on offer after breakfast. That was end of service.
In 12038, the food was bit better than morning. After departure, water was given followed by a pattice, Aloo bhujia packet, a sweet which am still trying to figure what it was, a pack of apple juice followed by tea. Soup was tomato served with traditional bread sticks and butter chiplet. A word of caution - be careful with breadsticks, they were as good as rock. Dinner was paneer gravy with parathas, jeera rice and dal with curd and vanilla ice cream later. Better than morning but I think being prestigious trains shatabdis and Rajdhanis need to be quality checked for food timely. Hope it happens.
3. Cleanliness
Old shatabdi rakes, painted and renovated, yet comfortable. Consist had good stability. Knotched maximum of 111 kmph only. But again, this is not a high speed corridor.
4. Attendants/ staff
The TTE seemed to be lost in his own world. Utterly bored with his work. More than 50% of the rake was empty. The catering staff was dressed tidy. Seemed to do their job well.
It was hauled by a WDG-3A of TKD shed, could not get the number as it has faded completely from side.
Finally, a conclusion, guys try the shatabdi to LDH via UMB. It's not a bad train, but it's not an experience you would like to cherish.
Cheers!!!

Hi Rail fans, I would like to share my recent experience on the newly started BCT-NDLS duronto express.
I travelled on 10/4/12 on the 22210 duronto express from NDLS to BCT in 1A. I am sure the train composition is already posted here but am still confirming it
ENG-EOG-B1-B2-B3-B4-B5-B6-B7-B8-B9-A1-A2-A3-PC-H1-EOG
It's in UP direction. The consist will reverse in DN direction.
Anyways,
...

the train left exactly at 23.30 hrs from PF3 of NDLS. I got the coupe B surprisingly since I was travelling alone. All those waiting for this train to become popular, guess it has. The 1A coach was fully occupied and so were all 2A coaches. A point I would surely like to mention that despite being brand new LHB rake, the consist shook disastrously everytime the train crossed 110 kmph mark. So much that even the food and tea cups spilled at times for most passengers. So much for fine dine table in 1A. There was one attendant for the coach, who was always in a hurry to set up tables, drop food in your plate and leave. The food was really good though, cooked nicely. Breakfast was around 9 am. They did not serve tea/coffee after breakfast. I asked for it around 10.30 since I am a tea person. The lunch was real late, the soup commencing at 13.45 and lunch immediately around 2 pm. One more important aspect is train reached BCT sharp at 16.20 hours instead of 17.00 that is put up on schedule. Even the TT said it reaches by 16.20 always. Maybe railways should change the time.
All in all a good train but I really hope they adorn the 1A like rajdhanis. It looks dull and out of taste with fabric and wires unevenly cut.
Hope to hear more experiences of travelling on this train!!

I mean there were wires peeping out from a aperture(square of around 2 inches in diameter) below the mirror that was in front of me. Nice multicolored wires.

No idea. Honestly LHB should not even at 140+, but as i said everytime it crossed 110, it started to shake. Passed mathura around 01.30, shortly after clocked 135 on GPS and lying in bed it was the feel to someone shaking your bed violently!!!

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
