Nagpur: Even as wild animals continue to die due to frequent train hits on the Gondia-Ballarshah section, the South East Central Railway (SECR) has failed to take any wildlife mitigation measures, especially the track that falls in the eco-sensitive zone (ESZ) of Tadaoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR).
According to the official data, since over a decade, more than 50 wild animals have died in train hits. These deaths include 5 tigers, 3 sloth bears, 2 leopards, 4 hyenas, 4 gaurs, over 20 wild boars, several nilgais and a deer. In June, when the lockdown was in force, 13 wild boars died in train hit.

these deaths have occurred between Ballarshah-Junona-Sindewahi-Talodi-Nagbhid-Brahmapuri section. The death toll may be even high if the section near Navegaon National Park is taken into consideration. Several wild animal deaths also go unrecorded.
Last month, one of the biggest tigers in the country nicknamed named Waghdoh, chronicled as T-38, missed death by a whisker while crossing the tracks near Junona. The issue once again surfaced with the death of a sloth bear after a freight train hit the animal near Talodhi railway station on Monday (August 17).
“After the death of 3 tiger cubs on November 15, 2018, in Junona area by a speeding train, outgoing Chandrapur chief conservator of forests (CCF) SV Ramarao had ordered a survey on mitigation steps to be suggested to SECR and accordingly has recommended a five-pronged strategy. We identified at least 19 railway poles where trains should run with a caution of 40 kmph. These patches fall under Junona, Mamla, Babupeth, Lohara, Mindala, and Brahmapuri,” said state wildlife board member Bandu Dhotre, who was part of the survey.
Ramarao had suggested new underpasses in most vulnerable forested ranges of Mamla, Junona, Sindewahi, Chichpalli, Talodhi, Balapur and Nagbhid ranges in Brahmapuri and Chandrapur divisions.
“However, none of the measures are being followed and no mitigation steps like underpasses are being taken,” Dhotre added. The Gondia-Chandrapur-Ballarshah section has 60km of the railway line passing through dense forest patches inhabited by wild animals and more importantly, it is a corridor used by tigers. Forest officials have been writing to the railways since 2012 but till now, no efforts have been taken to mitigate the damage.
SECR’s chief public relation officer (CPRO) Saket Ranjan, Bilaspur, said, “We have already issued instructions to train drivers to restrict speed on tracks around Tadoba landscape. They have also been told to blow the whistle continuously and blink lights on forest stretches so that animals are alerted. Though there is no special plan for physical mitigation measures as such. We are ready to discuss with the forest department.”
Chandrapur chief conservator of forests (CCF) NR Praveen said, “Frequent deaths of wild animals in train accidents are a cause for concern. I will take the follow up of the report submitted by my predecessor Ramarao. Most of the tracks around Tadoba landscape fall in the ESZ and hence, strong mitigation measures by railways are the need of hour.”
Suresh Chopne, regional empowered committee (REC) member of MoEFCC, said, “This was for the first time that the survey was done after the Gondia-Ballarshah broad gauge was fully commissioned in 1999. In th years to come, the number of trains will increase and apparently will affect more animals.”
Dhotre said this is one of main reasons why greens are opposing upgradation of the railway line through the Melghat Tiger Reserve in Amravati. During maintenance and construction works along the tracks, railway contractors have made some small pits in the area near tracks.
“These unwanted water-filled pits attract animals who get killed by speeding trains. During the survey, many unwanted pits were found between Bramhapuri-Sindewahi-Chandrapur. Besides, animals also get attracted to waste food thrown by passengers near the tracks,” he stated.

certificate in environmental management system.
Nagpur division’s CR counterpart South East Central Railway (SECR) too had ensured that five of its station bagged the certificate last month.

from Nagpur, the other railway stations to get the certificate were Sevagram, Betul, Ballarshah, Chandrapur and Wardha. The objective of the ISO certificate is to ensure that the premises of the railway stations reflected the present day need of being eco-friendly through a number of environmental protection and preservation systems implemented as per standard norms.
Earlier this year, the railway zones had started preparations for ISO
in environmental management system following directives of the railway board. The National Green Tribunal (NGT), in a case, had directed the board to ensure that the stations are more eco-friendly, complying with the best practices of environmental management.
A CR official said the whole exercise of ISO certification was divided into two steps under the supervision of divisional regional manager (DRM) Somesh Kumar.
“In the first step, several parameters of air and noise pollution as well as other factors like cleanliness and eco-friendly initiatives were measured and efforts taken to reduce them within the applicable standards for ISO certification,” said a senior official.
“In the second stage, the designated agency for ISO certification conducted an audit of the efforts for improving the amenities and facilities for passengers and related services through clean and green methods across the premises of the railway stations,” he added.
The first surveillance check post for the certification is slated to take place in December next year. The second one would be a year later.

विशाखापट्नम: 22415 /22416 आंध्र प्रदेश एसी सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस 23 जनवरी से एक नए नंबर के साथ (20805/2086) सुपरफ़ास्ट के रूप चलेगी।
इसके अलावा ट्रैन के समय में भी बदलाव किया गया लेकिन हाल्ट में किसी टाइप का वदलाव नहीं होगा। 22415 आंध्र प्रदेश एसी सुपरफास्ट एक्सप्रेस विशाखापट्नम से सुबह 08:35 रवाना होती है और 34 घंटे 30 मिनट में नई दिल्ली पहुंची है जबकि 20805 आंध्र प्रदेश एक्सप्रेस विशाखापट्नम से रात दस आठ बजे रवाना होगी और 32 घंटे 35 मिनट के सफर के बाद नई दिल्ली सुबह छह बजकर पेंतीस मिनट पर पहुंचेगी। करीब दो घंटे के समय की बचत होगी।

प्रकार ट्रैन नंबर 22416 नई दिल्ली से सुबह 06:25 रवाना होती है और विशाखापत्तनम पहुँचने में 35 घंटे 25 मिनट का समय लगता है जबकि 20806 आंध्र प्रदेश एक्सप्रेस नई दिल्ली से रात 20:15 पर रवाना होगी और 32 घंटे 50 मिनट के सफर के बाद विशाखापत्तनम सुबह पांच बजकर पांच मिनट पर पहुंचेगी । वापसी में भी करीब दो घंटे के समय की बचत होगी।
ट्रैन में सात स्लीपर, सात थ्री टियर वातांकुलित, चार ट्व-टियर वातांकुलित, एक फर्स्ट क्लास वातांकुलित के साथ कुल 22 कोच होंगे। ट्रैन के लिए चार एलएचबी रेक होंगे।

For your kind information and eye opening IR does a lot of mistakes in introduction of train routes, config, timings, days of run which conducting proper traffic feasibility survey and introduce as per political pressure. At least now they have corrected on public demand after 4 yrs of introduction. Most Humsufur express are good examples where are introduced in routes where are no daily trains and running with 6 AC coaches.

Most Humsafar Express oh seriously! My routes have 3 HS. Nizamuddin-Durg, Tirupati-Jammu Tawi, Nanded-Jammu Tawi all are flop You talk about Humsafar huh!
And i believe political halts and trains have came more in fashion from last 5 years. And talk about traffic survey, When already a slot packed trains are running between bhopal to delhi in night hours another train is introduced with High speed and sleeper coaches and few people want their train to run over existing high speeds.

Definitely most HS don't have full traffic in most sections Tirupati SVKDT doesn't have good load in SC TPTY and my point stands valid SL is needed for pilgrimage centers rather then flexi fare train and that no train available in that route. Pilgrims mostly travel with families and all classes of people. Durg Nizamumudin is good train with morning arrival which is the requirement and again morning dep back is not that preferred and demand will be more for evening dep anytime after 1600. NED amtitsar HS I don't think full AC needed a SF with more number of 3AC would be better. One more in central line is Indore Puri which doesn't have direct connection until now with SL given a HS. Regarding slot travellers right from VSKP VjA NGP want morning arrival but not evening arrival at Delhi where they are ni path constraints there is...

no point in running a SF train leaving BPL at 1400 and reaching 1200night your representatives should press for one more SF between BPL nlds may be upto Chandigarh overnight and separate train from NGP. Godwana which is introduced to NGP is extended to BSP Raigarh and now SBP. I don't if they extend further to Orissa or Andhra from fancy political representations. Already Hirakud is running should have used that slot to run 4 days between SBP and HNZM. Even Hirakud extension to VSKP is not needed instead they should have separated neelachal/ SF and given biweekly to Vskp to cater to ganges belt and also serve link to Delhi for North Andhra and southern Orissa.

गोरखपुर, जेएनएन। रेलवे बोर्ड के मिशन स्पीड अभियान का असर दिखने लगा है। पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे प्रशासन की पहल पर बोर्ड ने 15015 गोरखपुर-यशवंतपुर (बेंगलुरु) एक्सप्रेस के समय में कटौती के लिए हरी झंडी दे दी है। अब यह ट्रेन गोरखपुर से अपने निर्धारित समय से रवाना होकर तीन घंटे पहले ही गंतव्य तक पहुंच जाएगी।
बोर्ड के दिशा-निर्देश पर पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे के अधिकारी अन्य जोन के अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक कर ट्रेन की नई समय सारिणी तैयार करेंगे। जिसमें ट्रेन की गति बढ़ाने के साथ अनावश्यक ठहराव को भी कम किया जाएगा। नई समय सारिणी में यह ट्रेन यशवंतपुर के दस किमी पहले यलहंका स्टेशन तक ही चलेगी। हालांकि, यात्रियों को यह सौगात नए साल में ही मिलेगी। स्पीड और ठहराव निर्धारित

दरअसल, मिशन स्पीड के तहत रेलवे बोर्ड दिल्ली में भारतीय रेलवे में ट्रेनों की गति बढ़ाने और समय में कटौती के लिए पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे सहित नार्दर्न, डब्ल्यूसीआर, एनसीआर, सर्दर्न व सेंट्रल रेलवे कुल छह जोन के संबंधित अधिकारियों की बैठक हुई थी। इस दौरान गोरखपुर-यशवंतपुर एक्सप्रेस के समय में कटौती पर भी चर्चा हुई। विमर्श के बाद अधिकारियों ने प्रस्ताव तैयार कर बोर्ड को भेज दिया था।
नागपुर के आगे सवारी गाड़ी बन जाती है एक्सप्रेस
गोरखपुर-यशवंतपुर एक्सप्रेस की रफ्तार नागपुर तक ठीक रहती है लेकिन चंदरपुर से आगे लगभग एक हजार किमी की दूरी तय करने में इस ट्रेन को 25 घंटे लग जाते हैं। यह एक्सप्रेस सवारी गाड़ी बन जाती है। गोरखपुर से यशवंतपुर पहुंचने में 51 घंटे लग जाते हैं।
सुबह 6.45 बजे ही पहुंच जाएगी यलहंका
15015 गोरखपुर-यशवंतपुर एक्सप्रेस प्रत्येक सोमवार को गोरखपुर से 6.35 बजे से रवाना होकर गोंडा, बादशाहनगर, ऐशबाग, उन्नाव, कानपुर सेंट्रल, भोपाल, इटारसी, नागपुर, सिकंराबाद के रास्ते तीसरे दिन सुबह 9.45 बजे यशवंतपुर पहुंचती है। अब इसके पहुंचने का समय तीन घंटे कम हो जाएगा। यानी, यह ट्रेन अब 6.45 बजे यलहंका स्टेशन पहुंचेगी।

Yes the buses may be there but they cannot match the direct metro connectivity of YPR. But anyway, I am not a regular pax of this train, so I am happy. But if they did the same to Wainganga, then it will be a big headache for me.

चिखलीपासून पूर्वेला ताडभुज, कन्हाळगाव मंदिर तर भसबोरन नावाचा मोठा तलाव व परिसरात शेती आहे. चिखली येथील नागरिक जनावरे चराईसाठी कन्हाळगाव जंगलात नेत असतात. कन्हाळगाव हनुमान मंदिराकडे जाणाऱ्या भाविकांची संख्या मोठ्या प्रमाणात आहेत. बाहेरगावातील अनेक भाविक मंदिराकडे याच रस्त्याने जातात. याच रस्त्यावर गोंदिया-बल्लारपूर हा रेल्वे मार्ग आहे. काही वर्षांपूवी रेल्वे रूळावरूनच नागरिकांना दळणवळणाचा मार्ग होता. मात्र या रूळावर अनेक अपघात झाले. त्यामुळे सन २०१५ मध्ये रेल्वे प्रशासनाने अपघात कमी करण्यासाठी हा मार्ग बंद केला. त्यावर लाखो रूपये खर्च करून रेल्वे रूळाखाली सिमेंट काँक्रीटचा बोगदा तयार केला. परंतु संबंधित कंत्राटदारांने निकषांचे पालन केले नाही.

धोका रेल्वे बोगद्यात दिवसदेखील अंधार असतो. पावसाळ्यात जोराचा पाणी आल्यास बोगद्यात चार ते पाच फुट पाणी साचून राहते. परिणामी गावाकडे जाण्याचा मार्गच बंद होतो. बोगद्यातून जात असल्याने अपघाताची शक्यता आहे. त्यामुळे प्रशासनाने यावर उपाययोजना करण्याची मागणी नागरिकांनी केली आहे.
सर्वेक्षण करावे
चंद्रपूर-गोंदिया मार्गावरील रेल्वे रूळाच्या बाजूला शेकडो शेतकऱ्यांच्या शेती आहेत. रेल्वे प्रशासनाने अनेक ठिकाणी पूल बांधल्याने शेतीकडे जाण्याचा मार्ग मोकळा झाला. पुलांखाली बोगदे तयार करण्यात आले. त्यांचे सर्वेक्षण करून उपाययोजनेची गरज आहे.
