a news has been published in a bengali daily news paper (anandabazar patrika) today i.e 24/07/2010, that ministry of railways is mulling the idea of barring irctc from booking railway tickets. they are playing with idea that in future tickets can only be booked through prs counter as it was before 10-11 years ago. my view on this news is that if it will happen, it will only entertain the touts at railway counters who charges exorbitant amount to the ticket seekers & it will definitely promote the nexus between the prs staff & the touts.i believe if this happens along with the irctc authorised agents, common people & individual users also will be affected. are we heading back to the days of no computer, no online facily?

I know a little bit of Bengali and i read he news online.
It states that as IR has decided to take over catering from IRCTC, it may take e-ticketing from IRCTC. No where it has been sais that e-ticket will stop.
IR has found some financial irregularities with IRCTC's accounts.
So dont worry IRCTC agents and users, only name might change,
...

but it wont stop.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
