Its too early to say but NFR can think of utilising this rake by starting a new train DBRG-Puri weekly via GHY-NJP-Howrah. It will surely be a hit due to its weekend runs and ample AC coaches.

VB allotment update : Out of 8 VBs, 7 VB trains have been allotted to respective zones as per ICF.
ECoR, NR, SCR, SR, ECR, NFR & WR zones are the lucky recepients and the latest VB still remains under IR.
Note: Majority of these VB trains are in orange livery. I believe NR, ECR & ECor zones are one of the lucky ones.

For ECoR, i think most propably a BBS/puri to Vskp VB is on cards.
Or else a VSKP-BZA...may be..

Puri VSKP with KUR reversal can be feasible.......or better can be BBS-VSKP which would take lesser journey time.

Such a big slack this train has between GNT to GTL. It easily recovered a 2 hrs delay and arrived GTL 15 minutes BT.
Also because of the slip attachment and detachment at GTL in addition to loco change it had to take a long 50 minutes halt. If slip is cancelled the loco change can be completed in much less time or shifted to UBL.
In the end it reached VSG just 5 minutes late.
This

train can be easily speeded up by 2 hours if slip is cancelled and LHB rakes given. SER should definitely put up such proposal in next financial year.
Also completion of GNT GTL doubling will also help.

SWR not in support for coaches increase due to Braganza Ghat. Its what they always give excuse.

Just see what mockery have been done to Goa express post LHBfication. SWR never focuses on Goa as it focuses on Bengaluru region.

Goa express wont be getting rake standardization any more.
No more non AC coaches will be added.
Whereas Amaravati express needs more and more SL class coaches. LHBfication will give a free hand to "babus" sitting in railway board and SWR HQ to make a mockery of this train.
Better option is SER just do the routine LHBfication. Thats it. That

Dude ...if SER demands like coach increase or speed increase in SWR, then surely Amaravati will become the next Coromandel and Goa exp......
And 10 SL coaches are sufficient, yes but if reduced then serious complications will happen.
Post slip removal and LHBfication, the rake composition should be
Loco.SLRD.Gen.Gen.S1.S2.S3.S4.S5.S6.S7.S8.S9.S10.B1.B2.B3.B4.B5.A1.SLR.

Come once to SHM or KGP or BLS during this train's timings. You will understand the need and demand in SL class. How much crowded this gets. I regularly see this train at BLS and have travelled many times from BLS to JJKR in SL class throughout the year. Its just so crowded with people in SL class. Difficult to even walk in corridors or to toilet.

Agree Disagree:Reducing SL coaches is a necessity.
Reducing the SL coaches will only increase the crowd and people will suffer more. And starting a new train nowadays is just a political gimmick. Govt doesnt care for needs. They just use this for their political benefits.

Pawan express is the best example of how Indian railways has failed in fulfilling the passenger needs. I travelled briefly last week from Manmad jn to Thane and entered SL class to see the horrible picture. In the Sleeper Coach in every berth, two people are sleeping. I am not joking. I tried to fight initially that I booked the SL ticket with the double occupant. I realised that the train runs like this from Bihar to Mumbai in all the Sleeper class coaches with two people sleeping and some times, one more person sitting. This is the state of affairs why Indian Railways failed to cater to the needs of common traveller. Indian Railways on an average denies ticket to at least 200,000 passengers on daily basis and it goes upto 500,000 people their choice to travel despite having the rolling stock, and the railway lines. It is apathy...

of Indian Railways not accountable after they stopped the Railway Budget. How do we measure Railway performance. Financially operating ratio, how much they spend to earn 100 rupees, around 98 now. How much Indian government spend on Railways year on year, now 2.5 lakhs crores. How many passengers the Indian Railways denies travel - around 200 crore people and out of which 150 crore people travel like cattle including Mumbai local suburban trains, without seats for last 50 years. How long will Railways fail us and how long politicians give bullshit reasons to Indian population?

Pawan express is still having better rake composition. Still running with 12 SL coaches. How much more SL non AC coaches can the IR provide to it ??

Instead Just see what have been done to Goa express or CSMT ASR express or Coromandel express or Falaknuma express kind of trains. SL coaches in these trains have now become just a

mockery. Earlier used to run with 11+ SL coaches but now hardly 2-5 are remaining post LHBfication.

So your concern is true and genuine but wrong train has been selected by you for raising your concern.

Sir, bit of a long reply, but still bear with me.
So Cant say about others but let me tell you my scene.
12 years back i didnt had any source of income. Only source was pocket money or part time income while studying in college in Pune. So if i have to travel from Pune to Bhubaneswar, what option/choice do I had ? Book a SL ticket or if seat not available then do break journey Pune-SC-BZA-BBS in SL/2S class bcz i couldnt AFFORD AC class. As simple as it is. While
...
searching availability on IRCTC, I used to check first the non AC classes.

Cut short to present, i am well settled at a grade A job. I prefer flights for long distance but if flight prices are nonsensically High, then i check for trains. But now I dont even look/check from SL or non AC class. Just an example, Last month i had to travel from BLS to BBS in Falaknuma express. Seats were available in all classes, yet i opted and booked in 2nd class AC. Thats not because i wanted to show off. No....who dont want to save some money ? But the actual reason was i prefer privacy and peace. Its my choice and decision.

Now coming to your point, if a person who can afford the AC class, he should opt for it. It should be his choice. But If Railways is FORCING and deliberately pushing the people to opt for AC classes by reducing the Non AC coaches in a long journey train, then its wrong na ? Its a type of dictatorship, forcing the common man to buy something bcz govt want to earn more profits.
Where is free will then ?

Opting for my class of coach should be MY choice, not "Compulsion by Govt". Hope you understood my concern.

CR/SWR should think of running daily one Night SF train from either CSMT/LTT/DR to Bengaluru.

Timings must be within 14/15 hours. Route SMVT/DMM/GTL/KLBG/SUR/PUNE/KALYAN
Timings:- CSMT/LTT 21:30 SMVT:- 11.30/12.00

I
