It is very unfortunate that Hubli-Ankola new railway line project stays stalled since many after spending crores of Rs on the first stretch of work.
We can hope that commitment of RM shall pave the way to progress of this project.

(2) brisk capacity expansion-Commissioning 8km (19km planned) new lines perday against just over 4 done earlier
(3) Superfast electrification of tracks
(4) efforts to increase speed- especially HST, Talgo trials, first 100mph train Gatiman
(5) efforts to provide luxury on trains-Tejas, Antyodaya, Deendayalu
(6) Giving maximum brands- Humsafar, Tejas, UDAY, Deendayalu,
(7) delegation of powers to DRMs, GMs to improve organisational efficiency of IR through quick decision making/ implementation,
(8) cost control- cheaper power, diesel procurement, online procurement
(9) implementation of new accounting norms & ERP which will help IR improve quality of decision making, get more funding and future corporatisation
(10) and of course for the much hated Flexi fares.
