I beg to differ here . Mangaluru has enough pitlines , 3 are there but only the Madgao and Matsyagandha express is the useful express train operated by Southern Railway. Remaining trains are all used for Kerala passengers only.
The trains you said like Kannur Kachiguda , Karwara Madras will not be much useful and it will occupy the slots at Shiradi Ghats. We Kannadigas first need two Mangaluru Bidar express via Raichur , Chitradurga, Arsikere and other one via Madgaon Hubli Hospet Bijapur Solapura. One dedicated Mangalore Bangalore trains. Karwar and Coastal Karnataka people are heavily dependent on Bengaluru, Mumbai and Karnataka places mostly. Madras Karwar is not needed via Bengaluru, it can be via the Kerala route itself.
