Due to delays in procuring Japanese Shinkansen bullet trains for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, India's railway ministry has invited bids for a European Train Control System (ETCS) Level-2 signalling system to enable domestically produced Vande Bharat high-speed trains (designed for 280 kmph) to operate on the line. trains were expected by August 2026 on the Surat-Bilimora section and fully operational by 2033, but this timeline has been pushed back. Two indigenous Vande Bharat-based trains will be manufactured by BEML by the end of 2026. The ETCS-2 system will be deployed to utilize the infrastructure, with commercial operations of Vande Bharat trains planned for 2027. Once Shinkansen trains arrive (around 2030), the Vande Bharat trains and ETCS-2 will be moved to other projects. The ministry is aiming for the best Japanese bullet trains by 2030.

Yeh system 'indigenous' Vande Bharat trains (280 kmph tak ki speed) ko chalane dega. Shinkansen trains pehle August 2026 tak Surat-Bilimora section pe aa...

The USBRL, a ₹41,119 crore project completed in phases, includes 38 tunnels, 927 bridges, the world's highest railway bridge (Chenab), and India's first cable-stayed railway bridge (Anji Khad). sirf panch ghante reh jaayega, Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-1A) ke unlike, jo 2019 se 223 din band raha hai landslides ki wajah se. ₹41,119 crore ka USBRL project, jo phases mein complete hua hai, 38 tunnels, 927 bridges, world ka sabse uncha railway bridge (Chenab), aur India ka pehla cable-stayed railway bridge (Anji Khad) hai. Is project se tourism, handicrafts, horticulture, aur healthcare ko bahut fayda hoga, kyunki travel affordable aur convenient ho jaayega, khaas karke patients aur timely medical supplies ki zarurat walon ke liye. Lekin, kuch Jammu ke entrepreneurs ko apne business mein loss ka dar hai, aur activists environment par iske impact se chinta mein hain.
